OSCARVALENCIA
Visual Identity and Web Design for Filmmaker and Director Oscar Valencia: A True Reflection of His Cinematic Style—Elegant, Precise, and Nuanced.
Client: Oscar Valencia
Category: Visual Identity, Art Direction, Web Design
Oscar Valencia is a filmmaker and director based in the Basque Country, deeply connected to urban and surf culture. He has worked with various national and international brands in this space.
The goal of this project was to develop a modern, solid, and coherent visual identity that reflects Oscar Valencia’s artistic and professional personality. The focus was on a minimalist, timeless aesthetic, centered around bold typography and high-quality materials, evoking both the creativity and precision Oscar incorporates into his audiovisual work. Oscar’s portfolio design is carefully crafted to be both timeless and avant-garde. The use of a monochromatic color palette combined with the client’s audiovisual content provides a clean and professional approach. The website’s navigation is intuitive, designed to offer a seamless user experience. A standout feature is the integration of video snippets—iconic clips from Oscar’s most notable works that play in subtle loops, strategically placed throughout the page. These clips not only showcase the filmmaker’s talent but also add a dynamic and lively element to the site. Each fragment is carefully selected to complement the textual content and guide visitors through the site’s narrative.
Oscar's style goes beyond the audiovisual work he creates; it is evident in the image he projects of himself. As a fashion enthusiast, we wanted to develop a merchandise line consisting of tote bags, caps, and posters for his personal use.
The design is a subtle and conceptual fusion that plays with visual perception. At first glance, the central illustration appears to be a fingerprint, but it is actually inspired by a photograph of a rock taken by Oscar. This choice creates an interesting contrast between the organic and the digital, evoking a sense of identity and natural authenticity—something that resonates with the current culture of fashion and graphic design, where the raw and the real hold great significance.
For the composition of elements, we used the same typography and color palette as in his visual identity. This highlights the illustration in shades of gray, creating a minimalist and contemporary atmosphere. The typography used for the name "OSCAR VALENCIA" and the text below is consistent with the identity, adding clarity and elegance without overshadowing the central image, achieving a balanced design.
This design works not only as an aesthetic element but also as a visual statement. Together, this visual identity represents Oscar Valencia not just as a creator but also leaves a lasting and distinctive impression, inviting viewers to discover the authenticity behind his work.

Graphic identity and titles for "CONVEXES", the new film in association with Fantastic Acid, filmed in 16mm and edited by Oscar Valencia.
The typography used for CONVEXES is nothing more than a reflection of the talented work of shaper Tristan Mausse (Fantastic Acid). His different and innovative shapes make him one of the most conceptual shapers in the world. For this, the typography had to be powerful and meticulously crafted with the aim of seeking that relationship with the craftsman's work. A geometric sans serif typeface with washed characters and soft, rounded endings that provide a strong yet refined aesthetic. Whatch full video here.

Art direction and design of the first online campaign of e5store.com. To coincide with the Halloween holiday, I create a visual image that can be adapted both online and offline. I made a modification by hand for the Cooper typeface that has the logo for that occasion and that this could be applied to the different online media (fb, ig, web) along with the rest of the creativities for social media publications.
For print media, I conceptualize a series of posters whose background lies in the terrifying reality that society is going through because of Covid-19. These posters were displayed on the streets and in shop windows; at the same time that they were published on the different social networks to call for action.
The identity created for this campaign allowed us to make stickers to distribute as a gift to those who made a purchase.
